The Position
Kaufman, Hall & Associates, LLC, is seeking a Senior Associate who will be a significant contributor to our labor competency within Kaufman Hall’s Revenue & Operations Improvement practice.  The position demands a strong labor background and experiencing leading supply chain initiatives. In short order, the successful candidate will be expected to lead workforce/ labor client engagements with minimal oversight. He/She will be fully capable of presenting to senior management teams and boards and be able to drive the organization to decisions around critical issues, simultaneously managing multiple client engagements with a variety of staff.  The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to collaborate with and facilitate workforce discussions among providers across the care spectrum, including physicians, nurses, and other allied providers.
The essential functions of the position are:
  • Oversight and or/delivery of data management activities the encompass client data requests, collecting data from clients and other sources, clarifying and resolving data issues, maintaining source data and maintaining version control
  • Leadership related to Data Analysis including creating client profiles, inserting data into proprietary tool and using tool to analyze data, and identify idiosyncrasies and trends in data
  • Ensuring quality control of
    • Variance analyses on overall cost and productivity, incorporating a wide variety of key metrics, at both the global and departmental level
    • Expense trend analyses at the financial statement and general ledger level of detail
    • Drawing conclusions from the analysis and making inferences/suggestions as it relates to overall operating expense
    • Researching appropriate benchmarks for comparison
    • Creating and maintain a benchmarking repository
    • Client data files and deliverables
  • Creating reports for assessments and client deliverables, specifically including the Interpretation of data and the translation of detailed analysis into consequential summary hypotheses and findings via draft internal and client PowerPoint presentations 
  • Assisting in the development and management of key engagement project management tools, templates and reports
  • Maintaining business development data in Salesforce
  • Assisting in the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements
  • Delivering high quality work with integrity
  • Affinity for mentoring and developing junior staff in the pursuit of building the practice team
  • Interfacing and oversight of client and or KHA resources in delivery of above

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three to six years of progressive experience in and a passion for the healthcare industry, with previous consulting experience preferred.  We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong history of academic excellence and leadership, personally and professionally.  

In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • An in-depth understanding of key healthcare trends, information sources, and strategic planning and finance
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and SQL
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A highly intelligent individual with a substantial degree of intellectual curiosity.
  • A career-motivated professional who is energetic and possesses a superb work ethic
  • A self-starter who is able to work well independently.  Possesses a high level of self- confidence and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong people management and client relationship skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel, on short notice, at times

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree highly preferred

  • It may require the maintenance of a home office and proximity to an airport for work related travel
